supervisor that gossip

Hi, I am a new employee that has been in the health system for about 7 months and i have encounted a gossiping supervisor. would like to know what can be done when you have a supervisor who tells your fellow employees your personal business when thay are out side smoking? i thought that when you call out or have a emergency that it remains confidential with your supervisor and shouldn't to be told to others, so they can ask you about it the next day. Please reply, very confused.
